Andy Vernon
Name: Andy Vernon
Profile: Andy is one of Britain’s brightest talents, backed up by his domination of the junior age groups on the domestic scene and his excellent silver medal at the 2005 European junior Cross-country championships, not to mention his 5th place at the European Championships over 5000m (PB of 14.13). He is currently making an impressive transition to the senior ranks, as shown at the 2006 European Cross-country championships where he led home the Great Britain U23 team. Andy studies Sport Science at St. Mary’s University and his boundless enthusiasm and energy make him very popular at local schools, where he is encouraging extra participation at the grass roots level of athletics. After injury curtailed mid 2007 Andy has bounced back to fine form. Winning the British Universities XC Champs with fellow trainer Keith Gerrard in 2nd he has now made his first Senior World XC Championships at the end of March 2008.. the team are :
